GENERAL FUNCTION:
The AFP
Command Center (AFPCC) is a facility manned by tri-service representation and
complemented by combined selection of GHQ Joint/Special Staff offices/AFPSSUs
during crises situations. The Center Services as the primary body that
facilitates direction, coordination, supervision, control, monitoring and
evaluation of current combat and AFP-controlled civil assistance operations.
SPECIFIC FUNCTION:
a. Monitors execution of plans and provides
information and analysis of current operations that will serve as a tool in
the AFP decision-making.
b. Takes immediate action on operational
matters and issues necessary in implementing and coordinating instructions
consistent with command guidance and established policies with reference to
the CSAFP or The Deputy Chief of Staff, AFP.
c. Analyzes and evaluates information received
particularly on matters which may develop into a crisis situation.
i. Conducts
continuous evaluation of available information on current combat and AFP-controlled
civil assistance operations and issuance of timely orders and instructions consistent
with command policies.
ii. Transmits and
issues instructions to Major Services Headquarters, and Unified Commands.
iii. Provides
continuous and timely updates of operational situations and data to CSAFP.
iv. Continuously
monitors data on the status of operations of the AFP and friendly forces
including essential combat service support data.
v. Maintains
updated information on the deployment of friendly and enemy forces, both
tactical and strategic.
vi. Monitors the
conduct of external defense operations.
vii. Provides
secretariat to the AFP Battle Staff.
viii. Provides a core
of Joint Service Personnel who will compose the Crisis Actions Team (CAT) that
will be activated simultaneously with the activation of Battle Staff
“A”.
ix. In coordination
with J5, effect coordination with allied forces operating in the Philippines.
x. Maintains AFP
troop and material resource list committed to current operations.
